Hello. My name is Ashton, Ashton Woodbury to be more precise.  Forgive me if I assume you, the reader, are like me, a fellow soul whisked away from their family and friends and dropped into this strange and wondrous world.  I am writing these journals expressly to assist and give guidance to others like me, so hopefully this book makes it into the hands of those who will benefit the most.

I have been here a number of years, I think, and I barely remember anything of what my life was before coming here.  I honestly don’t know why the Book chose me.  I am no fighter, no adventurer, and seem to have little patience for learning magic.  I find the Corruption and the monsters it spawns to be truly terrifying.  I usually beat a hasty retreat when I encounter such things.

 

My power lies in the study of the diverse lands that make up The Realm.  I have found that I can read most of the languages I have encountered in my travels and books have always been a passion of mine, so far as I can remember.  So I decided to use my talents to aid other Ikons in their adventures and ultimately tip the scales in their favor against The Corruption.  The Realm is vast and borderless, with endless wonders and discoveries waiting to be uncovered.  Through these notes I hope to offer you a deeper understanding of what our purpose is here and how we can someday save this most enchanting place from destruction.
